Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) has announced the launch of its new Smart Shopping Platform, an AI-enabled in-store retail solution developed in collaboration with Google Cloud and 66degrees.
Built on Google’s Gemini models and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, the Smart Shopping Platform is designed to bring digitally enhanced personalization, navigation, and convenience to physical retail environments worldwide.
The platform enables shoppers to quickly locate products, compare similar items, and receive intelligent substitution suggestions when items are unavailable, significantly improving efficiency and ease during in-store shopping.
By bridging digital intelligence with physical retail spaces, the platform delivers an experience that closely mirrors the convenience of online shopping.

In-Store Personalization with AI
Addressing common in-store challenges, the Smart Shopping Platform helps eliminate the frustration of searching for products across large retail spaces.
According to Honeywell, the solution offers retailers a ready-to-deploy, cloud-based AI system that does not require maintaining dedicated AI teams, making advanced retail technology more accessible.
Powered by Honeywell’s Mobility Edge hardware and software platform and Google Cloud’s AI capabilities, the Smart Shopping Platform creates a seamless connection between a retailer’s digital data and its physical store.
Shoppers benefit from personalized guidance, real-time product details, and dynamic recommendations delivered directly through Honeywell devices.
Smart Shopping Platform Integrates Loyalty Data and Real-Time Navigation
When consumers use the Smart Shopping Platform on Honeywell Android devices such as the CS32 Personal Shopper, they can link their loyalty accounts to unlock personalized recommendations.
These suggestions are based on purchase history, stated preferences, complementary items, and active discounts or promotions.
The platform also provides step-by-step in-store navigation, guiding customers efficiently through aisles to find desired products.
If an item is out of stock, the Smart Shopping Platform leverages AI to recommend relevant alternatives, replicating the substitution experience commonly found in e-commerce platforms.

Smart Shopping Platform Empowers Retail Staff with Intelligent Tools
Beyond enhancing customer experiences, the Smart Shopping Platform also supports retail associates. Employees equipped with devices such as the Honeywell CT70 can access real-time insights to assist shoppers with personalized recommendations and product locations.
This functionality enables store associates to act as in-house experts, improving service quality and operational efficiency.
Honeywell noted that devices like the CT70 are already used by thousands of retail associates across grocery chains, big-box stores, specialty retailers, and department stores globally.
Smart Shopping Platform Availability
The launch marks a continuation of Honeywell’s ongoing collaboration with Google Cloud to advance intelligent computing across industries. The Smart Shopping Platform is scheduled to be available to customers beginning February 2026.
